Welcome to Brightspots! These Terms of Use (“Terms”) explain how you may use the Brightspots mobile application (“the App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Brightspots

Brightspots is a simple and private space to record positive feedback, personal achievements, and moments you want to remember. It’s designed to help you reflect and build confidence, not to diagnose or treat any condition.

2. Your Data

Your entries are stored on your device by default.

Brightspots collects anonymous usage data to help improve the app. This data does not include the content of your entries or any personally identifiable information. For more details, please see our Privacy Policy.

If you choose to enable iCloud Sync, your entries are also stored in your personal iCloud account and can sync across your devices signed into the same Apple ID.

• The developers of Brightspots have no access to your entries, feedback, or personal information.
• If you delete the app, the data stored on that device is removed. If iCloud Sync is enabled, a copy of your data may remain in your iCloud account until you disable iCloud Sync and remove the data from iCloud.
• The developers are not responsible for loss of data resulting from app deletion, device reset, hardware failure, or changes to your iCloud settings.

Brightspots optionally allows you to enable biometric protection (Face ID or Touch ID) to safeguard your data.

• Authentication is handled entirely by Apple’s secure system on your device.
• Brightspots never receives or stores any biometric information.
• Biometric protection helps prevent someone accessing the app on your device. It does not change how iCloud Sync works if you enable it.

3. Use of the App

Please use Brightspots responsibly and for personal reflection only.

You agree not to:

• copy, modify, or distribute the App for commercial purposes,
• attempt to access, reverse engineer, or extract its source code,
• use the App in any unlawful or harmful way.

4. Disclaimer

Brightspots is designed for personal reflection and confidence-building, but it is not a substitute for medical or psychological advice.

If you experience mental health difficulties, please reach out to a qualified professional.

5. Liability

The App is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind.

The developers of Brightspots are not liable for any loss of data, productivity, or emotional distress arising from your use of the App.
